Software Consultant responsible for real-time embedded software development of engine and transmission electronic controllers, simulators and I/O modules. Clients include Allison Transmission Division, Delphi Electronics & Safety and Wavetek.

Project Summary

• Assisted in the development and maintenance of  J1939 communication software and operating system software for the electronic controls for a Hybrid Electric Bus using Green Hills Ada/C software development environment hosted in MS Windows.  The target processors were MC68332 and hardware/software integration was performed using HP logic analyzers.  Used Continuus software package for software configuration management.
• Developed Motorola MPC555 and CPU32 microprocessor based engine control software. Software was developed using Diab Data C compiler suites on Sun and HP Unix workstations. Worked with hardware and systems engineers in construction and maintenance of lab test benches consisting of networked Unix workstations, PCs, HP Logic Analyzers and Modular Development System (MDS) hardware.
• Ported transmission simulator software developed on Sun Unix platform using Verdix Ada to a DOS-PC platform using Alsys Ada. The Verdix Ada target hardware was a M68020 single-board-computer with a VMEbus backplane. The Alsys Ada target hardware was an 80486-PC also with a VMEbus backplane. Both targets interfaced with the same external hardware, e.g, A/D, D/A, and timer modules.
• Responsible for project build and release processes that involved developing and supporting front end interface scripts for RCS and Continuus software repositories on the Unix platform. Most scripts were written in Perl that ran on Linux, Unix and Windows clients.
• Installed and helped maintain two Red Hat Linux servers for file, application and mail support.

• Team member responsible for development of transmission control software using Motorola 68HC11 and 68HC16 assembly, and Introl C on HP-UX and Sun Unix platforms. Tasks included open and closed loop solenoid driver modulation, diagnostics, and asynchronous serial communications.
• Responsible for project build and release processes that involved development and support of front end interface scripts to SCCS/RCS repositories on the Unix platform.
